  • Złoty Widok Observation Deck – one of the most interesting spots in the area. An ideal place to admire the Karkonosze Mountains.

  • Chybotek – a rock formation that is one of the most famous attractions in Szklarska Poręba. It is about 4 metres long and weighs several tonnes.

Chojnik Castle

  • Chojnik Castle – located at the top of Chojnik Mountain in Sobieszów. Walking towards it along the black trail, you will pass through a 20-metre-long fissure cave. 
  • Łabski Peak – the fourth highest peak in the Karkonosze Mountains (1,471 metres above sea level). The summit is not accessible to tourists. 
  • Wysokie Koło – one of the highest mountains in the Western Karkonosze Mountains. It lies on the Polish-Czech border, south of Śnieżne Kotły. It is not possible to climb to its summit. 
  • Cross-country skiing trails in Jakuszyce – ideal for both professionals and amateurs.
  • Izerski Dark Sky Park – a place that attracts astronomy enthusiasts. If you want to see the Milky Way in all its glory or take spectacular photos of the night sky filled with stars, this is the perfect place.

  • Prince Henry's Castle – you can reach the top of the castle via one of three trails of varying difficulty. It was built in the 19th century.

  • Ruins of the Castle in Rybnica – a treat for researchers. Unfortunately, only ruins remain.

  • The Karkonosze Museum in Jelenia Góra – visit this place if you want to learn more about the history of the Karkonosze Mountains. 
  • The Podgórze Mine Underground Tourist Route in Kowary – a place where the first miners appeared as early as 1512. Today, you can visit fragments of the adit and climb the observation tower.
  • Poidło Waterfall – one of the most attractive waterfalls in Poland. It is distinguished by its charming cascades.

The ski jump complex in Harrachov

Attractions in the Czech Republic

Only a few kilometres separate Szklarski Kamień from the Czech border. There, more attractions await you. One of the most interesting is the ski jump complex in Harrachov. There is also a giant ski jump there, which allows jumps of over 185 m

Another attraction is Izerka, a small settlement located on a vast meadow. 

Places worth visiting on the Czech side of the border include the spectacular Mumlavský vodopád (a picturesque complex of waterfalls on the Mumlawa stream) and the monumental Labská přehrada dam.

It is also worth visiting the museum in Kořenov dedicated to the adventurer Jára Cimrman. While in the Czech Republic, be sure to try the local cuisine, especially dumplings, traditional Czech goulash and dill soup.
